Widemouth Bay Caravan Park

The Park

Widemouth Bay is a very hilly holiday park in Cornwall. The clubhouse and main facilities are located at the bottom of a hill. We do have some accommodation with level access but it is limited and may not have adjacent parking. We have two specially adapted caravans for wheelcahirs users which have ramp access, low level kitchen units, extra wide doorways and dedicated parking alongside the unit.

The touring area is at the top of the hill and set on an incline. There is one half grass/half hardstanding pitch which is directly opposite the shower block.

Getting Around

The nearest train station is Barnstaple which is 38.2 miles from Widemouth Bay.

There are connecting bus services from Barnstaple on Stagecoach bus number 85 to Bude. Change at Bencooolen for  95 bus towards Wadebridge to Widemouth Manor. This is approximately a 5-10 minute walk from the site.

Alternatively stay on the Bus until Bude and get a taxi from the Taxi Rank with the Blue Light Taxi Company who can be contacted on 07553 054446. This is just under 5 miles from the park. 

There is a small business in Bude called North Coast Cycles who have a manual wheelchair and battery operated mobility scooter for hire.  Please call them direct for information:  01288 352974.

Launceston Mobility are about 35 minutes from Bude, and they offer wheelchair and mobility scooter hire, and can often deliver equipment to Bude.  Please see their website for information www.launcestonmobility.co.uk

During the school summer holidays, the Beach Office at Summerleaze Beach have a Sand Chair available for hire during their opening hours.  Please call them direct for information:  01288 352226

Public Buildings

Our main Drifters venue has ramp access. The colour schemes generally provide contrast between floor, wall and doorways for the partially sighted. There are designated disabled parking spaces outside the venue. The sun terrace has ramp access.  There is level access to the swimming pool, the pool itself is entered via shallow steps. Entrance into the shop is via a ramp. There is a disabled toilet in the main venue which also services the swimming pool. Please note Chef's Corner is located within the main venue.

Assistance dogs are welcome in all public areas.

Dietary Requirements

Drifters Restaurant offer a wide range of foods which we anticipate will meet most dietary requirements. All vegetarian, vegan and gluten free choices are marked on the menu. For any other allergies, please speak to our staff who will be happy to help.

Mobile Signal and WiFi

As the park is set in a valley, mobile signal can be poor from the lower areas of the site. Most networks get signal on the touring fields which are higher up the site. We offer free WiFi in the main venue.
