Bude provides a nice range of shops, restaurants and sports facilities but still remains charmingly Cornish. There is something for everyone to enjoy including a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities from soft play areas, cycling, surfing and other water sports.

There are lots of golden beaches to enjoy whilst you are on your Cornwall caravan holiday, with spectacular views, dog friendly choices, surfing hot spots and natural attractions such as Bude sea pool.  You can also enjoy the South West Coast Path which offers exceptional walking routes, perfect for long strolls or lovely picnic spots.

9.8 miles (15.8 km) Difficulty: Strenuous. A mixed terrain from grassy paths to some of the steepest valleys on the South West Coastal Path. This walk provides you with wide, open views of the Atlantic from high cliff top paths.

Widemouth to Bude

The walk follows the coast from Widemouth Bay to Bude, passing Phillip's Point Nature reserve to the watchtower at Compass Point. The route then turns inland at the Bude breakwater and follows the canal from the sea lock into Bude. The walk continues along the canal towpath to Helebridge and then follows footpaths over fields from Whalesborough to the coast.

3.2 miles (5.1km) Difficulty: Easy Start from Poundstock Church and follow the lanes through the small hamlet of Treskinnick Cross before dropping down into the valley at Newmill where it follows the stream to Penfound Manor – the oldest inhabited house in England.

One of the wildest beaches along the coast, this pebble and shingle beach is accessed from a path at the top of the lane leading to the site. Here you can escape from the crowds and see the abundance of wildlife – probably the best vantage point to look for seals. Not safe for swimming. Dogs welcome all year.
