Boscastle Food Festival | 04-05 October
If you've never paid Boscastle a visit on your Cornwall holidays, now is the perfect time as the stunning village commemorates the 10th anniversary of the 2004 flood.
Cornwall's three Michelin starred chefs join forces to celebrate 10 years of the Boscastle Food, Art & Craft Festival, originally set up by the local community to promote the village's 'open for business' status.
The two day festival is set to be busiest ever, with more than 3000 visitors expected from far and wide.
This exciting event is a highlight in the Cornish calendar, with cookery demonstrations, local producers, craft stalls and live music featuring the BRIT Award nominated Plymouth Military Wives Choir.
Falmouth Oyster Festival | 09-12 October
Continuing the food theme and celebrating Cornwall's diverse seafood scene, Falmouth hosts its 4 day Oyster Festival in October.
The festival kicks-off the start of the oyster dredging season and specifically celebrates the last remaining traditional oyster fishery in Europe, still dredging by sail and hand punt.
Held annually, festivities are traditionally opened with a cookery master-class from a celebrity chef – this year that's down to 'The Oyster Lady' Katy Davidson.
Elsewhere that days are bustling with cookery demonstrations, local produce and ale marquees, shell painting for the children, live music, an oyster shucking competition, a boat race plus lots more!
Fal River Autumn Walking Festival
Never did I think I'd see the weather this dry in October, it's like being back in Italy! Hopefully it continues for the Fal River Autumn Walking Festival, starting mid month.
In previous years the Autumn Walking Festival has been restricted to a two week period, but this year organisers have thrown it open, encouraging people to get their walking boots on throughout the season.
The walks celebrate everything that's best about the Fal River, exploring historical sites, coastal paths and areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Not just tailored to the keen walkers, there are a host of graded routes available, catering for all abilities.
John Fowler Holidays' Halloween Extravaganza | 31 October
You didn't think I'd get to the end and not include Halloween did you?
Halloween is one of the year's highlights around our Cornwall caravan parks and the Foxy Club and stripey teams are going all out to dazzle you during the last week of our main season.
There's loads going on around the parks including children and adult fancy dress competitions, pumpkin carving, best dressed table prizes and to top it all off, the Stripey Spooktacular Show!
