Cornwall Crowned Best UK Holiday Destination For 7th Consecutive Year

Cornwall continued its domination of the British Travel Awards this week, as the county clinched the title as the Best UK Holiday Destination for a seventh consecutive year.

You guys who return on your caravan holidays in Cornwall year after year have quality taste!

The Duchy took gold in what was a fiercely competitive pool of locations, pipping Northumberland who took silver and Devon who received the bronze award.

Chief Executive of Visit Cornwall, Malcolm Bell, said: “Well done Cornwall. To be named as the nation's favourite holiday destination for seven years is a truly incredible achievement.”

“Each and every person involved in tourism in Cornwall should be proud of this award. It represents strength in our product, brand and future and is a powerful message to be able to shout across the world.”

“Thank you to everyone that has contributed to Cornwall's success and of course, to those who voted.”

Congratulations also go out to a number of attractions that surround our holiday parks in Cornwall for bringing more awards back to the county. The Eden Project again claimed gold in the Best UK Leisure Attraction category, with stiff competition from Legoland and Longleat. After taking bronze last year, it was awesome to see Bude picking up gold in the Best UK Coastal Resort category, with Woolacombe awarded the bronze this year.

Reaffirming its title as the largest travel and tourism awards in the UK, The British Travel Awards 2015 attracted a mammoth 1million votes from more than 250,000 individual voters.
