February Half Term Activities in Somerset and Cornwall
Only a week to go until two of our UK holiday parks open for February Half Term. We can’t wait to see you all at Sandy Glade Holiday Park and St Ives Holiday Village.
We have a full entertainment programme running at our caravan parks during the February holidays as well as some fantastic local attractions to keep you busy during your Somerset and Cornwall holidays.
Somerset
Wookey Hole is open daily from 15th February….. just in time for half term! Come and see the infamous caves, rich in beauty and history, watch the brand new 4D film ‘Return to the Lost World’, walk amongst the animatronic dinosaurs, see the amazing performers in our live circus shows, play adventure golf on our 9 hole course or have a go at the traditional art of paper making.

When you visit the Roman Baths during Feb half term when you are staying at our Brean caravan park, there will be lots of special activities to make your visit even more exciting. Dress up like a Roman with ‘Togas and Tunics 15th-16th and 22nd -23rd February. Times: 10am-12.30pm and 1.30-4pm. Find out how to play the Roman game of Merels and make a set to take home to play with friends. Dates: 17th-21st February. Times: 10am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-4pm.
Enjoy some supersonic family fun this February half term and Aerospace Bristol with a packed programme of events, including robot activities, spotlight talks, drone demonstrations, story time sessions and of course, get up close and personal with the world famous Concorde plane.
Meet the conservation heroes with Bristol Zoo's new half term sticker trail. Get up close and personal to over 400 animals and collect stickers on your way as you encounter endangered animals and then meet the staff working to protect them.
Cornwall
History lovers can travel back almost 200 years whilst on their Cornish holidays this February to the cobbled streets of Victorian London (Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays throughout February). The Victorian Village, an indoor attraction at Flambards Theme Park, wants to give visitors a taste of the 19th century with Dreadful Jack guiding time travellers through the experience. Wander through the life-size Village and discover 50 authentic bygone scenes.
The indoor experience is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout February 2020 from 10am, visit the Flambards website for more information.
The Eden Project has some exciting creative activities planned for February half term with ‘Colour Uncovered’ week. You can explore how art meets science in the incredible world of colour and enjoy craft workshops, giant collaborative art demonstration, colourful storytellers, Radical Botany art exhibition and much more. Book in advance and save up to 10% online.
Budding treasure hunters are invited to uncover dramatic tales of sunken vessels during February Half Term at the Shipwreck Treasure Museum (15th – 23rd February). Explore the cases throughout the museum finding riches dating from ancient Egypt and the Roman period.
Using the treasure trail search high and low discover long forgotten secrets of wrecks from the past century. Will you find the lost ships lying beneath the waves?
Oopening for 2020 on 15th Feb, Screech Owl Sanctuary is the perfect family day out whilst you are staying at one of our Cornwall holiday parks with something to do for all of the family. The sanctuary for rescue owls holds one of the largest collection of owls in the South West with over 40 different species from all over the world, alongside a range of other animals including raccoons, meerkats, emus, alpacas, mini Shetland ponies, donkeys amd goats. Screech Owl Sanctuary provide education to both adults and children and offer the opportunity of close encounters with these majestic birds.
