It's a tough one...Halloween or Christmas? Which is the best?

For me, it's got to be Halloween. Mainly because I get to spend it with all of you guys on your cheap family holidays.

In true North Devon style, there are plenty of Halloween events going down in the best haunts in town! Here are 5 of my favourites...

John Fowler Holidays Stripey Spooktacular

Halloween is one of the year's highlights around our holiday parks and the Foxy Club and stripey teams are going all out to make it a frighteningly good week at Ilfracombe Holiday Park and Sandaway Beach.

There are loads of activities you can sink your teeth into during your cheap caravan holidays, including children and adult fancy dress competitions, pumpkin carving, best dressed table competitions and to top it all off, the much anticipated Stripey Spooktacular Show!

Watermouth Castle

What better place to experience ghostly goings-on than at Watermouth Castle?

With eerie dungeons, the crazy Hall Of Mirrors and rides like The Cooking Pot, The Aviator and The Water Go Round, decline the invite at your own risk!

Vampires, witches and zombies are all welcome for a week of Halloween fun, and children dressed up can get involved for only £6 each.

The Big Sheep Halloween Festival

Whether you visit “Fun by Day” or “Scary by Night” at The Big Sheep, there is no shortage of activities for the whole family at one of the biggest Halloween Festivals in the South West.

Every day this week you can experience the fun of Halloween, minus the frights! Take the daylight haunted hayride, get your face painted for free, carve pumpkins and take to the skies at the witches' flying school.

Are you brave enough for “Scary By Night”? Tackle the Zombie Zone battlefield and explore what the Haunted House in store for its curious visitors.

Batakular Week at Combe Martin Wildlife Park

If you're taking your cheap UK breaks at Sandaway or Combe Martin Beach, you might hear some spooky noises coming out of Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park.

It's Batakular Halloween Week and if you weren't scared of the Dark Egyptian Tomb before, you certainly will be this week MWAHAHAHA!
