Freddy’s Favourite 5: Things To Do At The 2016 Royal Cornwall Show

Isn't it crazy how time flies?

It only feels like yesterday I was sat here in the Foxy Club, at one of our Cornwall holiday parks, blogging about the biggest event in the Cornwall calendar.

So today I'm at it again, on the eve of the 2016 Royal Cornwall Show giving you my 5 favourite things to do at Cornwall's flagship event!

2016 Royal Cornwall Show | John Fowler Cornwall Holiday Parks

Take In The Grand Parades
The Royal Cornwall Show continues to be centred around agriculture and you can expect to see some of the country's finest animals over the three days. Thousands will compete for prestigious awards and titles and grand parades of the winning cattle, sheep and goats take place in the main arena on Friday and Saturday.

Try & Buy Top Cornish Produce
More than 60 of Cornwall's top producers will be on hand to satisfy those rumbling bellies and quench thirsts built up from a stroll around. With three impressive marquees that also host the Cornwall Food and Farming Pavilion, it's not a surprise the food and drink areas are some of the most popular on site.

Check Out The RAF Falcons Parachute Display
If you've visited the before during your caravan holidays in Cornwall, you'll know all about the RAF Falcons Parachute Team. Their adrenaline-fuelled display is back for 2016, jumping out of the plane as tiny dots and landing very precisely in the middle of the main arena.

Stunt Display From The Equine Stars Of Poldark
Another all-action attraction set to wow the crowds for a first year is Atkinson Action Horses – The Equine Stars of BBC's Poldark. Saddle up as the stunt riders take you on a ride of Drags, Falls, Pick Ups, Flips and Rearing.

Shop At More Than 1,000 Trade Stands
Finally, how can you not take part in a bit of shopping? More than 1,000 trade stands are housed under a small tented town on site. The variety is endless, from a range of industries – you'll be sure to leave with something.

Last year over 126,000 people visited the Royal Cornwall show over the three days, many from our holiday parks in Cornwall, and organisers are hoping to trump figures from previous years for 2016.

The show starts tomorrow, Thursday 9th June, and runs through to Saturday 11th June. Gates open to the public at 8.30am each day. Daily tickets cost £18.50 for adults and £5 for children aged 4-15 - under 4s are free. Family tickets can be purchased at £39 (2 adults and 2 children).
