National Baking Week – Halloween Biscuits Recipe

Hey my foxy friends! Halloween is nearly here and we are very excited to get dressed up and have a spooky time at all of our UK holiday parks. As this week is National Baking Week and next week is October half term, I wanted to tell you my favourite spooky biscuit recipe you could try out when you are enjoying your caravan holiday!

Ingredients

100g caster sugar

100g unsalted butter

1 egg

275g plain flour

1 tsp vanilla extract

400g icing sugar

3-4 tbsp water

2 drops of food colouring

Method

1 - Preheat the oven to 190C/375F/Gas 5. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper

2 – Beat the butter and sugar in a bowl

3 – Beat in the egg and vanilla extract

4 – Stir in the flour until the mix becomes dough

5 – Roll out the dough

6 – Use Halloween shaped biscuit cutters and cut biscuits out of the dough and place on to baking tray

7– Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden-brown and set aside for 5 minutes

8 – Sift the icing sugar and stir in enough water to create a smooth mixture then add food colouring

9 – Spread the icing onto the biscuits and set aside until hard
