Porthleven Food and Music Festival 24-26 April 2015
I love spring. For a foodie like me spring brings lots of exciting things to do, including farmers markets and local food events and festivals – the next of which is just a week away!
For the fellow foodies enjoying self catering holidays at our West Cornwall holiday parks, I have something special just for you – the ingredients making up the Porthleven Food and Music Festival...
Spanning 3 days from 24th April, the Porthleven Food and Music Festival will again see thousands descend on the historic fishing village for entertainment, food and all out family fun!
The popular event is growing year on year and 2015's line-up of celebrity chefs looks to be the best yet, if I do say so myself! Antony Worrall Thompson continues to support the festival, and he's joined in the main marquee by Rick and Jill Stein, Dominic Chapman, Josh Eggleton and Neil Haydock. As well as the main marquee cooking demonstrations, Porthleven's harbour will be lined with more than 90 street food vendors and craft stalls.
It's not all about the food though, with an exciting and varied line-up of music on offer for the thousands of festival-goers! Headlining the Friday night will be Hayseed Dixie, creators of the musical genre “Rockgrassâ€. Saturday sees The Lumberjack Heartbreak Cowboy Trucking Company take to the Harbour Head Stage, for a set of Alternative Country Disco. Rounding off the festival on Sunday evening is Company B + The Peoples String Foundation.
Not forgetting the children, organisers have put together the Jollyboat for the weekend – a pirate themed family-friendly marquee. You can expect performances, music, art and cooking workshops as well as outdoor entertainment.
The Porthleven Food Festival is an event not to be missed during your UK self catering holidays. All the demonstrations are free with seats allocated on a first-come, first-sat basis – donations are welcome.
