Summer Holidays What's On Guide
School's out for summer!! The summer holidays have started here at our holiday parks and we can't wait for 6 weeks of family fun! Not only do we have a action packed entertainment programme at our caravan parks, there is also so much to see and do locally when you are on our Cornwall, Devon and Somerset holidays.
Here are my favourite family days out in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset this summer holidays.
Cornwall
Flambards - Close to our St Ives Holiday Village, Flambards will open all of its best-loved indoor and outdoor amusements daily from the 30th June to 9th September. There is scheduled additional entertainment shows as part of the admission price along with the firework spectaculars on selected nights. Throughout August, the daytime entertainments programme will include: Billy Wizz Magic Show, Flambards Creepy Crawly Wild Animal Show, Matricks Magic & Illusion Show and Cornish singer songwriter Daisy Clark. Visitors will then also be able to enjoy tribute act performances and fireworks displays on Mondays throughout the summer.
Pirate's Quest - Set Sail to Pirate's Quest Newquay this summer to discover the new story line for 2018.Visitors will have the chance to discover Blackbeard's Forgotten Legacy, on the 300th anniversary of the infamous captain's death. Head over from Perran View and join LIVE performers as they portray members of Blackbeard's Republic of Pirates; a real band of buccaneers who ruled the sea during the 1700s. The crew have travelled to Cornwall in search of the hidden treasure of Henry Every, an infamous pirate captain from Plymouth, who was rumoured to have hidden his vast treasure near Lizard Point in Cornwall.
Outdoor Adventure - With their expert team of professionals you can enjoy a host of outdoor adventures from surfing, body boarding, climbing, abseiling, Canadian canoeing, kayaking, sit-on kayaking, coastal traversing, archery, orienteering, coastal walking, team building and evening activities, too! These exhilarating activities take place on the unspolit, North Cornwall coast in Bude. You can book your activity directly with us, at our Widemouth Bay Caravan Park reception and by doing this we can get you a huge 15% off your booking!
Eden Project - Ever wondered what it would be like to go on holiday to Space? Take the trip of a lifetime to this summer's number one travel destination at Eden. This summer the Eden Project invites you to take a trip of a lifetime on a Misson to Mars aboard a rocket with spectacular views, get top tips on space travel from a lovable extra-terrestrial tour guide, and enjoy a thrilling virtual experience traversing the fiery surface of Venus.
Devon
The Big Sheep - If you are staying at one of our North Devon holiday parks over the holidays head down to The Big Sheep and enjoy a summer of fun! With a great selection of rides and live shows every day throughout the school holidays, there is something for all ages! There is also some special events in the summer calendar such as; BMX day, Legendary North Devon Mini Run, Bubbilicious Bubble Weekend and Marshall from Paw Patrol will be stopping by.
The Milkyway - Only a short distance away from our Widemouth Bay and Combe Martin sites, The Milkyway is set in acres of glorious North Devon countryside with lots of outdoor fun to be had! Exhilarating rides, huge bouncing pillows, a puzzling maze, mini-golf, stunning Birds of Prey Shows , there is something for everyone! You can explore the grounds by mini train, or ride the hair-raising Cosmic Typhoon roller coaster you'll see beautiful green hills and sparkling blue sea too.
Woodlands- This summer you can meet the Woodlands Supastarz with their brand new shows! Say ROAR to ROARY the NEW interactive dinosaur, and also the newest addition, a baby Velociraptor! Set in a world more than 160 million years ago! Join Roary for a roam around, as he moves his head, watch out for his tail!

Pennywell Farm - Enjoy 6 weeks of summer fun at Pennywell with your favourites plus NEW ENTERTAINMENT! If you are staying at one of our Devon holiday parks, you can meet all of the animals, enjoy rides, play and take part in activities to make full days of summer fun.
Pennywell have extra entertainment on every day of the Summer holidays but most notably the sheep Dog Trials on 1st August, Fizz Pop Science Workshops 4th and 5th Aug, Magic Martin (children's entertainer of the year 2017!) 9th Aug and then Hawkeye Falconry again on 11th and 12th Aug.
You can also enjoy Hawkeye Falconry displays at Pennywell Farm this weekend to celebrate the start of Summer Holidays and with 3 new litters of piglets born only last week we can guarantee a day filled with fun and cuteness.
Somerset
Cheddar Gorge - Calling all budding archaeologists! Cheddar Gorge & Caves are taking part in the annual Festival of Archaeology with lots of activities planned! The younger visitors will love getting stuck in making their very own clay thumb pots, trying their hand at brass-rubbing, dressing up as prehistoric hunter-gatherers and digging through our sand trays to discover artefacts like real archaeologists.
If you are staying at one of our Somerset Holiday Parks go and explore one of Britain's most spectacular natural landmarks, Cheddar Gorge & Caves holds many fascinating secrets about our prehistoric ancestors, and is an international centre for caving and rock climbing.
Wookey Hole Caves - For a full day out, when you are on holiday in Somerset, whatever the weather, look no further than Wookey Hole. The caves offer a great adventure deep underground with guided tours, watch Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs with moving seats, wind effects and 3D vision, enjoy new animatronic dinosaurs bring pre-history to life and don't forget about the Wookey Hole Circus Shows running daily throughout the summer holidays!
