What to do in the Summer Holidays
Summer is almost here at our family holiday parks and what better way to unwind than to enjoy the warm weather and delights of the South West. There is so much to do for all of the family around Devon, Cornwall and Somerset, with some of the UK's top attractions on your doorstep.
Whether you booked your family holiday a year ago or you are booking a last minute holiday deal you'll be sure to find something to do every day of your summer holidays.
Cornwall
All the Rides & Attractions are open daily from 29th June until 8th September and the famous fireworks are ready to light up the summer sky in August on the 7th, 12th, 14th, 19th, 21st, 26th and 28th 2019.
From Wednesday 7th August, visitors can enjoy the famous fireworks display and some fantastic tribute acts and entertainment at the theme park every Monday and Wednesday until 28th August. Lighting up the sky over the theme park the fireworks evenings are an unmissable experience for all the family to enjoy.
Over the Summer at Outdoor Adventure, the instructors spend their time teaching families, friends and children how to successfully catch a wave and learn to surf like a pro! When they're not paddling out on a surf lesson, you are likely to find one of the instructors down at Bossiney Bay heading out on an epic coasteering session where they will be taking groups into the crystal clear ocean, swimming through coves, jumping into the sea and traversing over barnacle covered ledges!
For big groups of friends and families, the Centre has fully trained and experienced instructors that are also able to offer a wide range of other activities such as Canadian Canoeing, Coastal Traversing, Archery, Climbing and more as we're lucky enough to have great onsite facilities!
This stunning, all-weather Cornwall attraction is open all year round and has free admission and free parking for everyone. On your visit to Cornwall Gold you can find; Tolgus Tin Mill, Pick a Pearl in Cornwall Pearl, jewellery workshop and collection, award winning The Cornish Pantry, Krazy Golf and Create and Paint Pottery.
You can also enter Cornwall Gold's summer competition with a chance of winning a £500 jewellery shopping spree! All you have to do take a selfie in the Love Shack (on our site), upload it to social media and tag Cornwall Gold to be able to win!
This popular Cornwall attraction is a great family day out, explore the largest indoor rainforest in the world and enjoy special events. Over the summer holidays the Eden Project will be holding 'Wild Wednesdays kids' club'.
The summer holiday kids' club for 7-11-year-olds*, is facilitated by the experienced Education Team and based in Eden's unique outdoor learning space in our wild outer estate. Each session includes physical and practical challenges, creativity, craft and campfires, and time to relax and play with friends old and new.
Children are welcome to come along for all five weeks, or simply book onto one session. Times: 9.30am – 3.30pm. Must be booked in advance.
Somerset
This summer Wookey Hole have an exciting new family show of Magic and Illusion - Hocus Pocus!
It's Wild, it's Wicked and it's HERE!!! Packed with Spectacular Magic and Illusion from around the world , an award winning family show not to be missed, starring the famous Witch of Wookey Hole and a cast of mischievous magical characters who will astound and amaze you for over 75 minutes. The Grand Pier, Weston-super-Mare, is the ideal destination for non-stop indoor family theme park fun. With rides, attractions and the latest arcade games a visit to the Pier is the perfect treat for kids of all ages. On weekends, and during the North Somerset school holidays, unlimited rides wristbands are available for adults and children.
Embark on a fun-filled journey at our adventure park and fun farm. At Animal Farm Adventure Park visitors can participate in adventure challenges, enjoy thrilling rides, and get acquainted with friendly animals.
Devon
The BIG Sheep is North Devon's best all-weather family attraction day out, this theme park is suitable for all ages of family fun and is perfect for rainy days out! Now one of Britain's leading honey farms, the family run Quince Honey Farm has over 1000 hives and offers a great day out for all ages, with something happening every hour of every day.
Join a Guided Tour of the unique BeeWorld attraction and see millions of bees (all housed behind protective glass), watch a Beekeeping Demo and hold a frame of bees, sample their delicious honeys, try your hand at rolling a beeswax candle, enjoy a bee themed talk, encounter some creepy crawlies in the Critter Cabin, and get suited up to take part in Be a Beekeeper where you will be guided through the inner workings of a live beehive.

The day out is suitable for those aged 5+ with those aged between 5 – 8 year olds needing an adult on the activities with them and then those aged between 8 – 18 can take part on their own but just require an adult on site with them during their visit.
Here you can experience a truly unique rural zoo set into a valley in North Devon. Combe Martin Wildlife Dinosaur Park
You don't usually see animals and dinosaurs living side by side, however that's what you get at Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park. Prepare yourself to step back in time when dinosaurs roamed the earth as you marvel at our animatronic dinosaurs in dinosaur valley.
Are you ready to come face to face with the UK's only full-size animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex? Ride the Dino Express train where you'll experience an earthquake that brings down 7,500 gallons of water hurtling towards you!

Babbacombe Model Village Torquay
During the summer from Monday - Friday the Model Village will be transformed in the evenings with thousands of miniature lights. The miniature lights enable you to see what goes on inside many of the models and as dusk develops into darkness, the illuminations beautifully light up the gardens and models creating an enchanting atmosphere.
Don't forget to visit Torquay's Dinosaur World this summer to see the world of dinosaurs brought to life. The indoor dinosaur exhibition is full of fun and interesting things to see and do and has one of the largest collections of dinosaur and fossils in the South West!
