Woolacombe crowned best beach in the UK & world’s 13th best!
One thing the UK isn't short of is awesome coastline, so when it comes to ranking our top beaches, competition is incredibly tough.
I talk about Woolacombe Beach a lot, and in my opinion, as well as heaps of people I speak to on caravan holidays in Devon, Woolacombe takes top spot as the best beach in the UK.
Well...after two successive years as runner up in the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards, Woolacombe Beach has fought off challengers from Swansea, Dorset and Cornwall to finally be crowned 'Best Beach in the UK'!
Not stopping there, Woolacombe has also been recognised on the European and World scene! In the European equivalent, the beach ranked in a hugely impressive 4th place, beating off stiff competition from Turkey, Italy and Greece.
TripAdvisor spokesperson James Kay said: "The presence of two UK beaches in Europe's top 10 is further proof of what a fantastic tourist draw the UK's coastline really is."
In the world rankings, Woolacombe came in at an amazing 13th place! The beach is mixing with company like Baia do Sancho, Brazil; Rabbit Beach, Italy and Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Island, Australia.
