World Cup Semi-Final Predictions

All I can say is wow! What a World Cup we're witnessing in Brazil. Do you guys think it's been quality too?

I've watched some class games with visitors on their last minute UK holiday deals, the most exciting being the USA's narrow loss to Belgium last week. That game had just about everything – end to end action with 56 efforts on goal, world class goalkeeping from Tim Howard, a first touch goal from Julian Green off the bench and sooo much passion from both sets of players, it's what the World Cup is all about!

But it's not over yet, we have some mouth-watering semi-final fixtures to look forward to, with four heavyweights of national football facing off for a spot in the World Cup Final.

Over the last few days I've heard a lot semi-final predictions from people on their last minute holidays UK, so I've decided to give you my predictions for the two games...

Brazil v Germany
Tonight sees hosts Brazil take on Germany for a place at the Maracana next Sunday.

Can Germany crash the Party? I think so yes.

Neither team have lit up the tournament, but I think Germany will get the job done. The absence of Brazil's two most influential players, Neymar and Thiago Silva, will be key. Neymar has been a one man attacking force for Brazil during the tournament and Thiago Silva has stitched together a very shaky defence.

I think Germany will win the tactical battle and home advantage won't be enough to carry Brazil through.

Freddy's prediction: Brazil 0-1 Germany.

Argentina v Netherlands
Tomorrow evening in Sao Paulo, Argentina will be trying to stop the Netherlands reaching consecutive World Cup Finals.

The game hinges on Lionel Messi in my opinion. With Nigel de Jong injured, the Dutch will need to find someone who can get around Messi and break up the play.

The Netherlands have been more eye-catching than Argentina in previous games, but Argentina seem to find a way to win – Costa Rica may have done them a favour taking van Persie and co to extra time on Saturday too.

Freddy's prediction: Argentina 2-1 Netherlands after extra time.
